Polygon meshes – smooth wireframe rendering*

Contours is the only shader available that allows you to render high-quality wireframe images of polygonal meshes created with Maya’s Smooth Mesh Preview that totally resemble the viewport preview.

NURBS surfaces – smooth isoline rendering**

The shader supports trimmed NURBS surfaces. Also the span count can be overridden to create more isolines in U and V direction wiithout changing the object itself. Contours allows for simple contour shading as well as using it in conjunction with every other more complex contour shader, e.g. contour_shader_depthfade, mental ray offers.
